Episode 1 – A Contest Won and Myconid Colony Emergency
The Wild Foxes—a party of creative problem solvers—secured one of two coveted spots representing the Glimmerdeep Exploration and Research Society (GEARS) in a diplomatic race to forge alliances and gather resources to protect Glimmerdeep from future giant raider attacks. They were assigned a mentor, the eccentric Professor Thistledown Whizzgear. But only met his page, Loons, who shows signs of wild magic.
Following the ceremony with the senior members of GEARS, Myska received a distress call from his home, a myconid colony deep in the Rift. The colony was in turmoil due to a mysterious Fire Plague infecting the myconids, driving them to madness before bursting into flames. The party arrived at the secret myconid colony and quickly devised a cooling system to slow the infection before setting out into the Underdark to locate the missing Myconid Sovereign, who had ventured into the depths seeking a cure.
On their journey, the party discovered the body of Lyra Pebblebrook, a halfling adventurer sent by Professor Whizzgear. Her journal hinted at alien technology in the area, leading the party to a hidden lab. Inside, they encountered a giant decaying brain encased in a glass dome, and a fierce battle erupted with plague-ridden myconids. Myska was gravely wounded but survived, thanks to his companions.
As they explored the lab, the Sovereign revealed a damaged communication machine that could be the key to finding a cure for the plague without risking further infection. However, the episode ended on a tense note as a glowing, infected myconid attacked the Sovereign, infecting him with the deadly Fire Plague.

Episode 2 – Meeting with Professor Wizzgear and His Research Project
In the aftermath of the Fire Plague infecting the Myconid Sovereign, Azlask, the Wild Foxes—Patrick Northstar, Senteq Wildwanderer, Aelar Stormwind, and Myska—attempted various treatments, including chill touch and the use of frost giant tears, to contain the infection. Concerned that the illithids might compel Azlask, the party chose to bury the mysterious box they found in the Illithid lair, hiding it under a poisonous mushroom growth that Myska cultivated. With Azlask quarantined, they pressed on to meet Professor Wizzgear at GEARS, only to catch his assistant, Loons, spying through the paintings in the great hall. Patrick saved Loons from a dangerous fall, and the group continued on to their meeting.
At Wizzgear’s office, their conversation frequently returned to the illithids. Professor Wizzgear revealed that Lyria Pebblebrook had been sent to the Underdark to investigate remnants of the illithid colony and shared his theory that the catastrophic dragonfire from the Years of Ash might have once devastated the illithids as well—a theory that has consumed him for years. His obsession with uncovering the truth, he confessed, likely drove his husband, Genfor, away. Despite the personal drama, Wizzgear assisted the party in drafting their first diplomatic contract with the Myconid colony, securing regular ice deliveries in exchange for the colony’s aid in defending Glimmerdeep from future threats. They even forged Azlask’s signature and had Gizmo, Wizzgear’s clockwork owl, deliver the letter to Glimmerdeep’s High Council.
The Wild Foxes then turned their attention to securing transport to their next destination: Greenmeadow. Aelar advised caution, noting that while their competitors sought more exotic locales, the party would need to focus on gathering numerous contracts in Greenmeadow to compensate for the higher-profile deals others might obtain. With this in mind, the Wild Foxes prepared for their next adventure, determined to balance diplomacy with opportunity.
Episode 3 – Negotiating Caravan Passage, Meeting Kurtis Drayman, and a Twilight Encounter
The market near GEARS was busy given the announcement of a Great Diplomacy Race. Several caravans had already left, leaving only 5 options for the Wild Foxes. The party quickly found out that the price of traveling via caravan across Eldoria was a dear one. But as luck would have it, the party spotted (or was spotted by) Kurtis Drayman – a traveling trader of unknown affiliation. Drayman offered to pay the party’s fees in exchange for protection for him and his draft steed: a huge-sized tortoise named Shelton.
After a week of escorting Drayman in the Cragwolf Expeditionary Services caravan – see PDF below – the party was settling down for another night at camp when they heard a laughter-like chirping from the treeline. Closer inspection revealed two gnolls fleeing from a house-sized spider. A third gnoll slinked into the spider’s lair and fled carrying a bundle of rocky objects straight into the party!
